Distribution of Napkins
On Going Program
Towards addressing this problem and to ensure menstrual hygiene of the women and girls we feel the need to introduce the use of biodegradable sanitary napkins
- We have got permission to conduct workshops among the girls in ten Govt. schools from class 6th to class 12th for the Faridabad block in Haryana to build an understanding on why Menstruation happens and the importance of Menstrual Hygiene and also to distribute free biodegradable sanitary napkins.
- This is an ongoing project for our organization.
- There are 10,000 girls in the ten Govt. schools and we distributing free 1 Lakh napkins in a month.
- We have also... On International Women's Day conducted awareness Programs and distribution of biodegradable sanitary napkin in 40 centers all over India by Tangent Ladies.
- We have also distributed napkin's for National Menstrual Hygiene Day 28th of May and conducted awareness Programs and distribution of biodegradable sanitary napkin.
- This is expected to be a 5 year program, till major portion of our country’s population of girls and women become aware of the importance.
On Going Project
Crimson Menstrual Hygiene Project was launched in November 2021 by Tangent India which is the ladies wing of 41ers India. Aasra Shiksha Samiti is the sole vendor for the Crimson Project. Tangent India has 50 clubs pan India and they have been regularly taking packets under the banner of Crimson project. Tangent ladies are the fore runners in this project conducting workshops to build an understanding on Menstruation and importance of menstrual hygiene. They also propagate the importance of biodegradable sanitary napkins and harmful effects of plastic.
Camps are held in Juggies , slums in both rural and Urban areas. Main thrust is in rural areas, especially in areas where literacy level is low and hence level of ignorance even higher
Tangent ladies do awareness talks and distribute packets each packet containing 10 napkins. Since the launch of this programme Aasra Shiksha Samiti has supplied them with more than 15,000 packets.
